Chronic administration of fluphenazine decanoate (3 mg/kg per day) increases serum levels of prolactin and decreases luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), as well as decreases desire to mate and litter size, in male rats.{66587} It increases lethargy and passive contact and reduces self-grooming, social grooming, auditory startle response, and propensity to attack other animals in monkeys when chronically administered.{66588} Formulations containing fluphenazine decanoate have been used in the treatment of chronic schizophrenia.
